Exploring Brand Guidelines

Today I looked at two brands, I Heart NY and Walmart, the dove deeper into what makes their branding so successful. These two brands have obviously recognizable logos and names for themselves.

Let’s get into it. First up, I Love NY

Consistency is a major factor in this brand. It helps increase the awareness and provokes emotion in the viewer. They key element is the simplicity of the design, it makes it easy to remember and recognizable. The bold typography also helps quickly identity and understand the brand. It has become a significant part of New York’s branding and identity embraced by everyone.

Their Mission:

Make it speak to the entire state. To show passion and energy present in every city within New York. The main goal is to share all the hidden treasures the state holds and to unearth the truth around every corner across the giant state.

Now let’s look at Walmart

Walmarts brand is clear and very consistent across the board. Their font is described as a clean San- serif font that is modern and efficient. The color scheme is blue and yellow which represents loyalty and brightness, reflecting a positive impact while shopping in the store. The spark symbol they’ve created is intended to express excitement and a spark of inspiration.

Their Mission:

Walmarts mission statement is essentially to Live Better. This means to create opportunities, advance adversity, and bring communities closer together.
